The Glow Life

L-R: Kiko Eyeshadow in 208, Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Gold Bronze, Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished

We all love a good glow. Whether it's a subtle glow or the 'shining like a disco ball' glow. I always love a glow on my cheekbones, it just completes the look! My favourites has to be these three; Kiko Eyeshadow in 208, Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Gold Bronze and Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished.

I mentioned this Kiko eyeshadow in my previous post where I mentioned the Kiko products I brought. So if anyone was wondering why I didn't swatch it, I've swatched it for this blog post haha! This eyeshadow as a highlighter is amazing, definitely one of my favourites! It's so subtle but noticeable. However, one downside of this is that it wears off quite quicker than the others so it's not really extremely long lasting. But the colour of this is absolutely gorgeous, definitely a dupe for MAC's Whisper of Guilt!

My new favourite. Before buying this, so many people were raving about the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks and I realllyyyyy wanted to buy one but I felt like it was just too expensive for...a shimmer brick. It was just ridiculously priced in my opinion. So I was in Boots, having a look around when I spotted this and with just one glance I just had to buy it. Literally, this is the best dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, they even have similar shades too. This shade is in Golden Bronze which I love, as I love a bronze glow! It's so easy to apply, either with your fingers or with a fan brush (which is what I use). You can either use just one colour or I think what 'normal' people do is just swipe into all of them haha! It's an AMAZING highlighter, and at £4.99 *applauds* you could use this as an overall glow or like me, I just use this on the highest points of my cheekbones and on my cupid's bow. But if you're going for that overall glow, then you can use this at the points where you'd usually tan for that gorgeous glow and also on the eyes if you're going for bronze-y eyes.

This was one of the first highlighters I purchased and this is the Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished. This is very different to the other ones I've mentioned as it's more of a pinky, pearly highlight than a bronze, golden glow. It's also a creamy consistency which makes it easier to blend with your fingers! I love love love this highlighter, just by one light tap into the pot, you get so much product but it looks a-mazing when applied. The colour kind of reminds me of opal, because it's so pearly...if that even makes sense. I'm so tempted to try out more of Topshop make up products!

Without and with flash.

So there are my favourite highlighters so far, they are pretty damn good so I think these definitely deserve a try for those who haven't!

Kiko Krazy

L-R: Full Coverage concealer (01), Rock Attraction bronzer (Steady Honey)

Okay, so before watching Carli Bybel's YouTube videos, I'd never heard of Kiko cosmetics. It was only when she mentioned the Kiko eyeshadow in 208 that I was like WOW. Honestly, it was one of the most stunning colours I'd seen used as a highlighter. For some of us, purchasing expensive highlighters such as MAC's Whisper of Guilt or Estee Lauder's Heatwave can be quite tricky as they are limited edition but I feel like this eyeshadow is the perfect dupe. It's a gorgeous gold colour and has a beautiful shine to it! You can intensify how much of a glow your going for, it's definitely one of the best highlighters/eyeshadows I've used! And I absolutely love this as a eyeshadow too! When applied dry, it has the same effect as when used as a highlighter, but when you use it wet (I use MAC Fix+ to wet my eyeshadows) it turns somewhat metallic and is perfect with either a bold lip or a nude, glossy lip if you're going for a more goddess look! So this eyeshadow definitely gets a thumbs up from me!

Me being me, I never purchase just one make up item if I'm shopping online haha! So I was looking through what other products they had and I came across the Rock Attraction bronzer in Steady Honey. I haven't used it a lot but I did try it and it's one of my favourite bronzers so far. It's so natural when you put it on as it doesn't have any chunky bits of glitter in it and gives you a subtle tan. And the packaging is also amazing!

The third product I purchased was the Full Coverage concealer in 01. I really needed a good everyday concealer as I wasn't very fond of my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. So I got this one and I wasn't too sure of what shade so I got it in 01 and when it arrived, I realised it was a tad pale for me but I kind of use it as a means to highlight the under eye area as well. I prefer this concealer over my Rimmel one! I feel like because it's more of a creamy consistency, it gives me more of a coverage but still not as much coverage but saying that I don't have any major issues with my under eye area (no eyebags, no severe dark circles, thank the lord~)

I'm actually quite impressed with these products, I think another Kiko purchase is due~

Géniale

Top: H&M. Skirt: Primark. Watch: eBay. Shoes: New Look.

This has got to be one of my favourite looks EVER. It's the summer season and that definitely calls for bright colours! I fell in love with this skirt when I saw it and I had to buy it because I absolutely adore neon colours, I think they look so eccentric and crazy only if they're worn right! As it was a really hot day, I teamed it with a loose crop tee which by the way says 'Great' in French! It felt so casual yet summery along with the shoes! And loose summery waves to finish off the look :)
If you guys see this background in my pictures a lot, it's because I tend to take my pictures mainly in this location as it is quite secluded but also I like the 'urban decay' theme going on! But I will most definitely try to use different locations and backgrounds as I know looking at the same wall can get quite boring haha!

Welcome to La Dame Rose!

Hi guys! I wasn't going to do this short introduction kind of post, I thought I'd get straight into it but I changed my mind! This blog is going to be all about fashion/beauty, so everything I wear (when I make the effort haha!), make up/beauty products, maybe throw in a couple of make up looks! Quite a few people have been telling me to start this blog because they know how much I LOVE fashion! So it's kind of been the nagging from people and my own passion as well that's made me want to start this! It took a while for me to get here because I spent so much time making the layout look pretty haha!
I love dressing up in my own weird and wonderful ways and just kind of showing off what I'm wearing I guess, because let's be honest, when you know you're wearing a totally hot outfit, you definitely want people to see it! And I'm not one of those where I always opt for the more expensive items, I shop everywhere and anywhere! Anything that I think looks amazing, I will buy it and style it in my own way :) So there you go guys, wasn't the best of introductions but I thought I'd let you all know a bit about myself :) enjoy reading guys!
P.S - because it's going to be Ramadhan this week (a whole month of fasting for Muslims), I won't be going out all dressed up all month so unfortunately there won't be any new outfit posts, I'll probably just do like little reviews on make up products or post outfit inspirations or old pictures of me where an outfit post is needed haha and everything else except new outfit on me! Thought I'd give you all a reminder beforehand!
